ABOUT STEVE ALBISTON CREATIVE

Photography isn’t just what I do. I tend to be more interested in the visual aspects of my environment than the social ones. I love a great one-on-one conversation, but when the crowd becomes too much, the noise flips a switch in my brain, shifting me from conversation to observation.
Like many young adults, I struggled early on to figure out my career path. I grew up hearing quite a bit about the law due to my father’s career in the California Appellate Court, but watching the arc of his career ultimately led me in a different direction. It was my high school art teacher who invested a great deal of time in me and often reminded me that I had a talent for the arts. That encouragement set me on my way. I took a chance and worked my way up the ladder, first as a graphic designer and, before long, as a photographer & filmmaker.
I sharpened my skills in the highly competitive environment at Brooks Institute of Photography, graduating magna cum laude and earning multiple special achievement awards during my time there. That training taught me not just how to take a photograph, but how to see light, texture, and visual storytelling in ways that bring each image to life.
Over the years, I’ve been grateful to see my work featured in well-known national and lifestyle publications, as well as used in advertising campaigns that help brands connect with their audiences. I consider it an honor to build these relationships and be given these opportunities.
I live in Ventura County, which I’ve called home for more than four decades. I’m a proud father of two grown children, and for over 12 years, I volunteered as a youth sports coach — an experience that taught me as much about patience, leadership, and connection as running a business ever has.
Photography is visual storytelling. It communicates without words and helps us cut through the noise of this world. It’s also given me the opportunity to connect with so many wonderful people along the way.
I’d love to meet you and explore how I might help your business, too. If you think I could be a good fit, please reach out. I’d love to help.
