About Steve Albiston — Photographer & Visual Storyteller
Photography isn’t just what I do — it’s how I see the world. With over 20+ years of professional experience, I help individuals and businesses communicate their value through compelling, high-quality imagery that gets results. My work isn’t just beautiful — it’s purposeful.
After beginning my career in graphic design — which is where the “Creative” in Albiston Creative comes from — I expanded into photography in 2005. Since then, I’ve worked with a broad range of clients across Ventura County and Southern California, from solo entrepreneurs to established brands.
I was educated in a highly competitive atmosphere at Brooks Institute of Photography, graduating Magna Cum Laude and earning multiple special achievement awards during my time there. That training taught me not just how to take a photo — but how to see light, moment, and emotion in ways that elevate every image.
Over the years my work has appeared in well-known national and lifestyle publications, and has been used in advertising campaigns that help brands connect with their audiences (including magazine placements and a 2024 magazine cover).
I live in Ventura County, where I’ve called home for more than four decades. I’m a proud father of two grown children, and for over 12 years I volunteered as a youth sports coach — an experience that taught me as much about patience, leadership, and connection as photography ever has.

A: Yes. It’s simple. Any business that sells themselves, a product, or a service. Small or large.
Q: We have products we need photographed, but we need you to come to us. Can you do this?
A: Yes. I can arrive at your location with my equipment and photograph your products. In fact, I have several customers who have me do this several times throughout the year.
Q: My son/daughter is an athlete. We want professional portraits taken of them. Do you do this kink of thing?
